With an abundance of sunshine in our area, we took to the woods yesterday despite the cold temperatures. Everyone bundled up, and our winter explorations did not disappoint.

The more cautious among us brought along shovels and hoes “in case of snow”, and were able to use them to dig “special rocks and treasures” out of a hillside.
Even in this “dead” season, nature still amazes. The different ice formations and crystals we spotted were unlike anything we’d seen before.
We ended the day with this sunset on our way home; all of it well worth the extra effort and cold it took to see it all.
Do you go hiking and exploring in cold weather?
