The snow started falling yesterday around 4 p.m. I never thought it would stick.
After losing power around 10:30 p.m., we listened to trees and branches cracking and falling well into the middle of the night. Snow continued falling off and on throughout the night and awoke this morning to about 4 inches of wet, heavy white stuff.
A survey of the damage this morning revealed some smaller trees down across our road and direct hits to the trampoline and sandbox.
Hello, rhubarb, garlic, and peas—hope to see you again soon.
Hello, blueberries and lilacs—hope you survived.
Clothesline, I guess I’ll be using you another day.
Mostly, we’re thankful for minimal damage, restored power, and a warm house. And Bug is celebrating a very memorable 13th birthday with snow in mid-March (!) and a day off of school!
