yarn along ~ october 5

Head over to Ginny’s to see what others are knitting and reading this week . . .
On the needles: I’ve finally begun my mom’s Calligraphy Cardigan.  I’ve knit a couple inches on the collar and it’s flying right along, which is a good thing because November 3 (her birthday) is right around the corner.  I’m already liking this Knit Picks yarn much more than the last one I was using.
Off the bookshelf:  I finished up The Saturdays and now it’s on to the second book about the Melendy family: The Four-Story Mistake.  In this book, Mr. Melendy decides to move the family from the only home they’ve ever known in New York City to a large old house in the country.  The four siblings have many exciting adventures as they explore their new home, the most fascinating of which involves the mystery of the home’s original owner and his family.  This book describes a setting I would have loved to inhabit as a child, and still would, today!
