making ‘sauce

Allow me to present . . .

. . . 2 quarts of applesauce—made from 8 pounds of Gala apples.  The first thing I’ve ever canned completely by myself, AND with a toddler {I should add a very good toddler} underfoot.  I’m a little discouraged by the yield of just 2 quarts; not quite the frugal food preservation I had in mind.  I still have 2 boxes to go; I think dear Cowboy and I are going to churn the rest of it out tonight after the wee ones are tucked in.
