Lithuanian Cowboy Bibs

A portion of the bias tape I mentioned the other day has made its way into a finished project: baby bibs for a soon-to-arrive little boy.

IMG_6007 I love cowboy-themed fabric prints, and this was a perfect opportunity to use some.  And, the perfect opportunity to keep tweaking a big pattern that I’ve been working on for awhile now.

IMG_6003 Baby’s mom speaks Lithuanian and English and teaches her babies both, so I thought it would be fun to put some words/phrases in Lithuanian on the fronts.  Here’s hoping Google translated everything correctly!

IMG_6010I used wooden buttons for the neck closures.  Cowboy fabrics are from Michael Miller (one is Rodeo Kids, I believe) and the ginghams are just generic.  Muslin was the fabric of choice for the backs, with 100% cotton batting sandwiched between that and the front.
